Resave – Terms of Service
Last updated: 10th September 2026
Welcome to Resave.
By accessing or using the Resave web application ("Service"), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service ("Terms"). If you do not agree to these Terms, you must not use the Service.
1. About Resave
Resave is a web application that allows users to track video games, manage personal lists and statuses, assign ratings, write reviews, follow other users, create a public user profile, import an existing game library from a supported service, and see where a game can be bought.
The Service is operated by Resave ("we", "us", "our"). It is currently provided free of charge, with no advertising, and we may introduce, change, or withdraw features at any time.
Donations. We link to our page on Ko-fi, a third-party donation platform, so that people who want to help with running costs can. Donating is entirely voluntary, buys nothing, and unlocks no features — every part of the Service works identically whether you donate or not. Any donation is a transaction between you and Ko-fi under its own terms: we do not process it, we never see your payment details, and we cannot issue refunds for it.
2. Eligibility
You must be at least 14 years old to use the Service.
By using Resave, you confirm that you meet this age requirement.
3. Account registration
To access certain features of the Service, you must create an account.
You agree to:
- provide accurate and up-to-date information,
- keep your login credentials secure, and
- be responsible for all activity that occurs under your account.
You must not share your account with other users or access another user's account without permission.
4. User content
When using Resave, you may create and publish content, including but not limited to:
- game lists,
- game statuses,
- ratings,
- written reviews,
- profile information,
- profile images.
You retain ownership of your content. You are responsible for it, and you confirm that you have the right to publish everything you post — including any image you upload as an avatar.
By submitting or publishing content on the Service, you grant Resave a non-exclusive, worldwide, royalty-free license to host, store, display and make your content available within the Service for the purpose of operating and improving Resave.
5. Public profiles
Resave allows users to create a public profile.
Unless you set your profile to private, the information and content on it — your username, display name, avatar, library, statuses, ratings, reviews, Top 4, activity, and who you follow — is visible to other users and to visitors of the Service who are not signed in at all. Reviews you write also appear on the page of the game they are about.
Public profiles are additionally listed in our sitemap and are not blocked from crawlers, which means search engines may index your profile page and show it in search results. You can set your profile to private at any time in your profile settings, which removes it from the sitemap and hides it from other users; note that a search engine has to re-crawl the page before its own copy of it disappears, which is outside our control.
You are responsible for the content and information you choose to make public.
6. Prohibited use
You agree not to use the Service to:
- publish unlawful, offensive, abusive, or harmful content,
- harass, threaten, or incite hatred against any person or group,
- publish sexual or shock content, or anything that sexualises minors,
- impersonate any person or entity,
- spam, manipulate ratings, or operate fake or duplicate accounts,
- attempt to gain unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data,
- interfere with or disrupt the operation of the Service, or
- collect data from the Service by automated means without our permission.
We reserve the right to remove content that violates these Terms.
7. Importing your library from another service
Resave offers an optional import that turns an existing game library into Resave library entries. Steam is currently the only supported source.
The import reads only what a Steam profile already makes public, through Valve's official Steam Web API. It does not sign you in to Steam, and we never ask for or receive your Steam password or any other Steam credential. The profile's "Game details" privacy setting must be public for the import to return anything.
When you use the import, you agree that:
- you will only import a library that is yours, or one you have permission to import;
- your use of Steam remains governed by Valve's own terms, and you must not use our import in a way that breaches them;
- matching Steam games to our game database is automatic and best-effort — some games will not be matched, add-ons and DLC are deliberately left out, and a match may occasionally be wrong. You can review and change everything before anything is added, and you can edit or remove imported entries afterwards like any other;
- statuses suggested from playtime are only a starting point, not a statement about you; and
- the feature depends on a third-party service and may be slow, incomplete, or unavailable at any time.
Resave is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or sponsored by Valve Corporation. What the import collects and how long it is kept is described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Reporting, blocking and moderation
Resave hosts content written by its users. We do not review it in advance, but we do act on it.
Reporting. You can report a user or a review from the Service, choosing a reason such as harassment, hate speech, spam, NSFW content, or impersonation. You can also write to us at hello@resave.app. Reports are confidential: the reported user is not told who reported them. Please do not submit knowingly false reports.
Blocking. You can block another user. Blocking works in both directions and silently: neither of you appears in the other's search results, feed, followers, or lists, any existing follows between you are removed, and the other person is not notified.
What we may do. Where content or behaviour breaches these Terms, we may remove the content, issue a warning, temporarily restrict an account, or permanently ban it, depending on the severity and on whether it has happened before. Content that sexualises minors, or a credible threat of violence, leads to an immediate permanent ban and may be reported to the authorities.
Being told, and appealing. If we remove your content or restrict your account, we will tell you what rule was applied. If you think we got it wrong, reply to that message, or write to hello@resave.app within 30 days, and a person will read it again.
9. Third-party services and store links
Resave relies on third-party services, including:
- authentication, database and file storage services (such as Firebase by Google),
- external game information providers (such as IGDB),
- Valve's Steam Web API, when you start a Steam library import (section 7),
- game stores (such as Steam and GOG), for price information and store links,
- YouTube (Google), for the trailer some game pages offer, and
- Ko-fi, for voluntary donations (section 1).
We are not responsible for the availability, functionality, or practices of third-party services. Your use of those services may be subject to their own terms and policies.
Game trailers. Where a game page offers a trailer, pressing play loads a YouTube player from Google and your use of it is subject to Google's terms. Nothing is loaded from Google until you press play. What Google receives at that point is described in our Privacy Policy. Trailers are supplied by third parties and we do not control, review, or guarantee their content or availability.
Prices and store links are informational. Prices shown on the Service are collected from the stores themselves and may be delayed, incomplete, or different in your region or currency. Any purchase is made entirely between you and the store: we are not a party to it, we do not process payments, and we cannot help with orders, refunds, keys, or delivery. Always check the final price on the store page before buying.
We currently earn no commission or affiliate revenue from these links. If that ever changes, it will be clearly disclosed next to the links themselves.
10. Game data and intellectual property
Game data and images are courtesy of IGDB (igdb.com).
Game titles, cover art, screenshots, logos and trademarks belong to their respective owners and are shown for identification and reference only. Their appearance on Resave does not imply any affiliation with, endorsement by, or sponsorship from those owners, or from any store or platform mentioned on the Service.
The Resave name, logo, design and software remain ours.
11. Service availability
The Service is provided on an "as is" and "as available" basis.
We do not guarantee that the Service will be uninterrupted, secure, or error-free.
We may modify, suspend, or discontinue any part of the Service at any time.
12. Account suspension and termination
We may suspend or terminate your account if you violate these Terms or misuse the Service.
You may stop using the Service at any time. You can also delete your account yourself from your profile settings, which permanently removes your account and its content as described in our Privacy Policy.
13. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, Resave shall not be liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of or related to your use of the Service.
Nothing in these Terms excludes or limits our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, for fraud, or for anything else that cannot be excluded or limited under applicable law. If you are a consumer, your mandatory statutory rights are not affected.
Your use of the Service is at your own risk.
14. Governing law
These Terms are governed by Italian law.
If you use the Service as a consumer, this choice of law does not deprive you of the protection of the mandatory rules of the country where you live, and you may bring proceedings before the courts of that country.
15. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms from time to time.
When changes are made, the "Last updated" date will be revised.
Your continued use of the Service after any changes means you accept the updated Terms.
